Designer Michael Graves Introduces New Vinyl Fabric Line for Healthcare Use

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 18, 2011 – This week at Healthcare Design 2011, CF Stinson revealed a collection of vinyl surface materials for seating designed by world-renowned architect and product designer Michael Graves. The Voyages Collection is inspired by Mr. Graves’ love of travel and the exploration of distant places and features six distinct patterns and is specifically designed for healthcare and other environments that require durable and cleanable surfaces.

“CF Stinson has given me the opportunity to provide a fresh and new approach to patterns on surface materials for seating.  By blending literal and abstract concepts, I want to encourage the impression of familiarity and also allow them to be seen in a slightly different way,” said Michael Graves.

As a young post-graduate student, Mr. Graves spent two years at the American Academy in Rome where he immersed himself in the art, architecture and culture of that classic city.  In the years that followed, his work as an architect and designer has taken him to nearly every continent and every great city on the globe. It is these experiences that shape the patterns in the Voyages Collection.

“CF Stinson is delighted to collaborate with Michael Graves on yet another stunning collection,” said Glenn Stinson, vice president of CF Stinson. “Through Michael Graves’ design mastery, the Voyages Collection offers an elegant embossed leather aesthetic that is not typically found in high performance surface materials for seating.”
